From 1 to 6 September, Cannes, France, hosted the 101st Annual Conference of the World Association of Detectives, attended by some 200 delegates from more than 80 countries. Armenia was represented by Hayk Gabrielyan, President of the Association of Private Detectives of Armenia and Ambassador of the World Association of Detectives.
The conference also held elections to the association’s governing bodies. Juan Giraldo, who previously served as First Vice President, was elected President of the World Association of Detectives.
For Armenia, the 101st conference was marked by an important event. On the proposal of the newly elected President and by decision of the association’s board, Hayk Gabrielyan was elected Regional Governor and Co-Chair of Europe.
“This election is a great honour for me and, at the same time, a great responsibility. It recognises the years of work of the Association of Private Detectives of Armenia and the international ties we have built. The new role allows us not only to take a more active part in shaping the professional agenda of the European region, but also to make Armenia one of the key centres for industry discussions and joint initiatives. Our goal is to build a stronger and more effective network of partners that can act quickly and find solutions even in the most complex cases arising in different countries,” said Hayk Gabrielyan.
The conference also brought another important achievement for Armenia: it was included among the candidate countries to host the 104th Conference of the World Association of Detectives in 2029.
The Association of Private Detectives of Armenia sees this as an opportunity to expand international cooperation in the coming years, bring leading industry experts to Armenia and make the Armenian professional community more visible in international partner networks.
