Pioneers of the invisible front: Gabrielyan & Partners Detective Bureau turns 5

Some fields are only talked about when the silence is broken. And some organisations write the history of their industry themselves. For many years, private investigation in Armenia remained mysterious and unregulated, known mostly from film stereotypes and unverified assumptions. That changed in 2021, when a team stepped confidently onto the stage and redefined the standards of professionalism, legality and ethics.

Today Gabrielyan & Partners Detective Bureau celebrates its 5th anniversary. Registered by the state on 3 August 2021, it became the first — and to this day the only — officially registered private detective bureau in the history of Armenia that carries out full-scale private investigations and security analysis in line with international standards.

The first and still the only one

Before the bureau was founded, the work of a private detective was often associated with clichés from films and TV series. Gabrielyan & Partners Detective Bureau managed to break these stereotypes by bringing legal literacy, a scientific approach and modern methods to the industry. The bureau works strictly within the law, primarily using OSINT (Open Source Intelligence) techniques, which turn information from open sources into legally valid evidence.

The bureau’s work is not limited to Armenia. Through a network of international partners, investigations are carried out in dozens of countries around the world.

International recognition and professional ties

An important indicator of the quality of the bureau’s work is its integration into the global professional community. It was the first in the region to join the World Association of Detectives (WAD), the most authoritative international association of detectives and investigators, founded in 1925.

Founding Director Hayk Gabrielyan is a WAD Ambassador and President of the International Association of Private Detectives (IAPD). He also heads the Association of Private Detectives of Armenia. Co-founder Gagik Gabrielyan is Vice President of the Association of Private Detectives of Armenia and a member of WAD.

These ties give the bureau:

access to a network of international professionals,
an exchange of modern investigative methodologies,
the ability to work to high international ethical standards.

The founders: experience forged in law enforcement

Behind this success story are two brothers, Hayk and Gagik Gabrielyan, who have many years of experience in law enforcement and public service.

Their philosophy is clear: the security of people and businesses, regardless of legal status. With this approach they have built a team of analysts, cybersecurity specialists, lawyers and field investigators.

Range of services

The bureau serves both individuals and companies:
corporate investigations and partner background checks,
detection of fraud and financial risks,
management of personal and business risks,
collection of legally valid evidence,
security system audits.
All work is carried out in strict compliance with confidentiality and the law.

Building a new culture

Over five years, the bureau has not only provided services but also shaped an Armenian culture of private investigation built on three core principles:

Absolute confidentiality — protecting the client’s data and problem is non-negotiable.
Legality — all work is conducted strictly within the law.
Comprehensive security — risk prevention for businesses, the search for truth for individuals.

In 5 years, the bureau has strengthened Armenia’s position on the world map among countries with a century-old private investigation culture.

Looking ahead

Five years is only the beginning. The bureau will continue to expand its technological capabilities, develop analytical tools and strengthen its international standing. These 5 years have shown that uncovering the truth, security and professionalism can share one address — Gabrielyan & Partners Detective Bureau.
